Rotary Representative to UN HABITAT
Dr. Salome Gitoho is a Leadership, Organizational Development and HR Consultant with several years’ experience in various capacities in the Government, public, private, international NGO, hospitality sectors, academia and consultancy. In her working career she has worked with the Government of Kenya, Kenya National Library Services a state corporation, Green corner and Twigs restaurants – a chain of restaurants, ICRAF an International NGO and The Nairobi Hospital; the premier hospital in Eastern Africa in the areas of HR Management and Strategy and BusinessDevelopment.
Dr. Gitoho is currently lead consultant at Lincoln Consulting. She is a trainer and facilitator in the areas of Leadership, Corporate Governance, Organizational Development, HR and basic sign language for the workplace with extensive experience in industry and consultancy services in both local and international business environments. She is passionate about mentoring and has carried out a study amongst HR practitioners in Kenya. She has carried out training for diverse teams in Asia, Middle East and Africa. Additionally she teaches Leadership and Management, Introduction to Business and Cross Cultural Management at the United
States International University in Africa (USIU-A).
She is a certified trainer with African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation sponsored programme, Management Services for Health (MSH) a USAID sponsored programme, Centre for Corporate Governance and Professional Trainers Association of Kenya and is a Certified MBTI practitioner in Africa.
She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) in Leadership and Organizational change, an MBA in Strategic Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration, a post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations and is a Certified Public Secretary of Kenya CPS (K).
Dr. Gitoho is a Trustee Starehe girls Board of Trustees, member HR Committee at Kenya Bureau of Standards, a Fellow – Kenya Institute of Management and the Institute of Human Resource Management – Kenya, Member Professional Trainers of Kenya and the Institute of Directors. She is a past Vice Chair and head of the Human Resource Development Committee –Kenya Institute of Management.
In Rotary she has served in the capacities of President, Assistant Governor, Faculty member Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI), Assistant District trainer, Country trainer, Country chair and is currently the Rotary Representative to UN HABITAT.
